Though it got no major release. Sally Hawkins’s performance in ETERNAL BEAUTY is amazing. Better & bigger than the movie, but the movie is what she needed to truly show her talents and as a showcase. Give the movie a chance. A deep look at mental illness.

The film isn’t bad but it feels like the runway for her character and performance to launch off. It works as a kind of case study file but where we get to see the outside influences that have helped to contribute to her mental illnesses. 

Not that Ms. Hawkins hasn’t Had plenty of great roles and performances since seemingly being introduced with the film HAPPY GO LUCKY. Thougbbshe had been in plenty of movies, television and theatrical productions prior. That film seemed to be her breakout role 

The film takes a Look at her paranoid schizophrenic character with a horrible family who only seems to inspire her condition to make it worse with their indifference or Using her  Where only one Family Member truly seems concerned but that character is influenced more by the rest of the family. To look the other way. Which also causes problems within her marriage. 

The first half plays out like a tragedy and the second act is more of a romance where the colors get richer and the style of the film becomes a little more surrealistic. It also becomes a bit happier though still downtrodden but hopeful 

It helps if the material is strong enough for them to base a performance on mention as they get older more is expected of them or a certain legacy is on them, and it is hard to live up to especially when you were just trying to do the work and work and more and more you’re not getting the roles you used to and the writing isn’t as strong. 

As the film goes along we learn that each of her family members has their drama  And dysfunctions as the film doesn’t  Seek to villainize any characters but shows them as human beings fallible 

The film is Advertised more as a romantic comedy between two people with mental illnesses it is deeper than that as it was kind of bait to hook More mainstream tastes seem more conventional for audiences.

will be the first to admit this film and it’s sequels for the most part are guilty pleasures there bee movies, but they have a lot of heart and truly seem to want to give the audience entertainment as they respect them.

this film is a fun takeoff of the viral video of an elderly senior citizen, who gets tired of a bunch of young punks, harassing others and ends up in self-defense beating them up 

How this film begins truly showing the origins of the lead character and shows us his strength and attitude as well as getting a community behind him

So that when the main storyline starts, we already know what he is capable of as he tries to figure out an avenge the murder of his best friend in the investigation taps into a conspiracy 

This film rely heavily on comedy but definitely has plenty of action in a while not the greatest of Scripps or believability or direction. This film does have its charms and it seems to have a lot of heart, especially in the right place and wants to please fans not only the genre, but the type of film that it is. 

As this is the type that would definitely go straight to home video back in the day now it would be straight to streaming and plays off like a bee movie with big names to get funding and have an audience and least this film earnest and provides the chance to play a leading role Which passes amicably

Again the film has a recognizable supporting cast who seemed to be here more in cameos, but by the end, you just can’t help, but like the film, despite its weaknesses as it’s just a fun movie, even when it takes itself serious, it manages to be entertaining and fun.

As long as you go in knowing it’s a no-brainer and just seeking entertainment and fun I think you’ll enjoy this film that surprises you a bit with it’s resourcefulness and lives up to its title kind of vigilante revenge film. While also filling in the boxes of an action film, even having a light romance by the end.

Essentially gaining all the things that he always wanted, but was never granted.

BAD ASS 2: BAD ASSES

Like most sequels this is pretty much more of the same only bigger and unfortunately batter in terms of quality as even though it seems to have taken its time this film feels rushed, and if the original was a revenge tale vigilante this one is the same now it’s also a comedy as bad ass has a partner who is slowly dying who seems to join him only for that reason.

Similarly, these films when they have sequels also get a bit dumber so this one is a little more flashier than the first film as expected definitely has more guns.

This one is definitely more comedic and has a slightly bigger budget as the villain poses more of a threat, and uses kind of the same excuse to get away with his crimes as in lethal weapon to the infamous diplomatic immunity clause 

As in the first film, he fought against a corrupt government in street gang now bad ass find himself going up against pretty much a whole cartel and it’s leader who is a international politician again police or any authorities hands are tied so it’s up to him and his partner this time played by Danny Glover 

Who is a ladies man which leads to some hilarious scenes as again this film seems more camping played for laughs than the first time. It’s still a fun ride, but it definitely starts to stretch the plausibility faster like most seems to partially throw away the events of part one to a certain extent , so that it fits more into a different narrative that allows for again him losing someone close who was like a son and setting up a side romance story for him

The villains are still over the top and ridiculous though a little higher echelon as far as the budget is concerned with Andrew Divoff playing the villain who seems like a more polished version of the same villain he played in A LOW DOWN DIRTY SHAME.

One of the aspects of these films that I think has audiences keep coming back is seeing more of an adult action hero, who isn’t necessarily invincible, but for the films purpose seems near invincible and using their smart and experience to win and figure things out as well as being budgeted so there’s no Too much over the top action sequences that make no sense and the film firmly planted tongue in cheek

As well as the lead characters really have nothing to lose, which is why they seem to be going out and willing to risk it. All it is a bee movie franchise is that is worth watching and checking in with each gets more ridiculous because there is another sequel to this film.

It’s nice to see characters who are used to playing supporting roles kind of get their day in the sun to play more leads and carrying over from the first film. It seems like this film also has an unnecessary. at least one unnecessary. 

That house these films is that the actors seem to at least be having fun which is infectious for the audience because they intern feel like the film is fun

If you are a fan of the first film. You should enjoy the sequel.

This is one of the first Chuck Norris movies I’ve ever watched from beginning to end, where he was a star and not a supporting player or making a guest appearance.

I will admit, I saw bits and pieces of it on television before I decided to screen it and watch it in full and part of the reason is Chuck Norris is look in this film with this long slicked back pretty much a mullet with a Scar and him looking more like a bad ass in a leather trenchcoat.

This film was directed by his brother, Aaron Norris, and I wonder if Chuck over the years kind of brought him in as somebody he can trust and also might do more of what he says instead of it, being such an open collaboration, where other directors might have visions of Granduer, whereas with Aaron Norris, who has directed many of his brothers films it’s more simpatico it’s family is all for a common vision in good

Considering the image Chuck Norris has of all americana and western. This one is more of an urban tail though with plenty of stereotypes, especially of mobsters of the early 90s.

No, obviously the film  gonna play fast and loose with any kind of  facts or logic, especially when his introduction as his undercover character is him blowing somebody away with a shotgun what you don’t even really see many undercover cops do in other movies and television shows so it is a bit of a shock

While he does have some hand to hand combat scenes, it’s mostly gunplay, which again is kind of new at least for me when it comes to a Chuck Norris movie nor did I expect it to be quite as violent and a bit gory.

Then, throughout all this, he still tries to help his neighbor who is getting picked on, stand up for them self and be a surrogate father figure which leads to an unbelievable ending of the film

No, truthfully this phone is already unbelievable from beginning to end and it’s just typical straight to at the time video kind of shock even though I know this plate in movie theaters and it’s not a very good looking film it’s very dated watching it as to be expected, but as bad as it is, it’s very entertaining it’s got character actors, Gloor and clearly paycheck rolls, but playing it for all it’s might.

It moves along even though at times you’re rolling your eyes it’s still wouldn’t make me a Chuck Norris fan necessarily but if you are in it will not disappoint you. It’s a bad movie that’s so bad that it’s actually good as far as entertainment, but it still leaves me as to why the cult of Chuck Norris I don’t give me wrong. I like WALKER, TEXAS RANGER for all probably the same points that people if they like this movie would like this movie but Walker was free to watch. Whereas people had to pay to see this movie.

This film is really straight up trash or maybe even junk. Though As even as an action film, the action isn’t that memorable and he seems to be involved in very little of it half the time until the end really

28 YEARS LATER (2025)

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

This is a  Long waited, sequel from the filmmakers who made the first and original 28 days later. Come back to offer another original slice for the franchise even after sitting out the previous sequel 28 WEEKS LATER.

Well, with this film, they up the ante, actually filming it with an iPhone, but not in the way you think not an actual cell phone but the same technology and rigged up. 

while it does tell its own tale that is connected to the franchise, that might be part of the problem with the film as the film works like a Marvel movie where it should be a standalone that offers the promise of sequels or expanding the world of the 28 later franchise by the end of the film after it tells its tail it just feels like a part one of a way bigger saga so that it comes across is more episodic than a standalone which can work, but it drags the quality of the film down as everything that you’ve seen before you know is going to lead to something else but it’s not quite its own tale or its own film.

It also doesn’t help that the film isn’t really a horror film in the traditional sense. It’s more a post apocalyptic tale and family drama more than anything else. 

As it seems like the two sequels after this will be handled by different directors so it’s almost like a tag team effort like this is director Danny Boyle coming back to start it off, and then he passes the baton to the next person who then continues the story from what we’ve previously seen and tells it in their own way, and then finally the next film is held by somebody different. Who then will tell the 28 later tales in their own way, but give it an ending for now as far as we know

Though let’s focus on what this film does again it sets up the rules of this world and it’s been 28 years since it has been out there. How people have survived what the culture has been and certain territories and what it seems like the rest of the world is doing or handling the situation.

From the opening scene, this film shows that it has no sacred cows and it’s slaughter and violence so that not even children or holy people are safe. Everyone is treated the same.

The film focuses on a young boy and his family him, and his father are hunters who go to the mainland to hunt and look for any kind of supplies to hopefully bring back . Though when the young boy whose mother is suffering from a disease as there are no doctors here that there might be a doctor out there in the wild is willing to take the risk to escape with his mother to the infected lands to try and find this doctor, so hopefully diagnose and care of her so that the rest of the film is pretty much an Odyssey.

It’s also a family tale so that at times it’s its own demented fairytale that has a very demented backstory, but could be folklore also

You’re enjoyment of this film will really retested by how much you can stand this child whether you think he is making the worse and stupidest decisions or you will be able to have empathy and understand why he would risk all of this for his mother 

The film is not going, please everyone and seems to have divided audiences who either seem to have wanted more of the same of the previous films or wanted something a little better structured story wise as the visuals and direction are definitely tight but the story for some might be a little too light or feels like it’s filling the blanks

though in these days and times it’s harder and harder to make an original zombie tale when there’s already so many zombie films out there plus you have The Walking Dead television show telling tales of zombies, even if this is the franchise that helped start the trend of fast or normal speed, running zombies.

The film also has things or seems that you never would have expected on screen such as a pregnant zombie giving birth, which one hadn’t really seen since the remake of day of the dead. The film does depict the zombies with full frontal, nudity, male and female.

The actors are all good in their roles, even if not given too much to do or more playing a bit more cliche roles. As Jody Comer is the costar of the film, and even though she’s in more than half of the movie, I still wish they had given her more to do or she had more to play refines as always steals his scene in his supporting role, as well as Aaron Taylor, Johnson showing his compassion as a father, but also showing that he can do action fiercely.

The film works, as it is a tail that is set in a larger universe that has been built slowly, but surely the story might not be as strong as some people would’ve liked nor as action oriented or violent as maybe some had hoped, but I will give the film credit for trying something unexpected whether it succeeded or not is up to the individual audience member, but I enjoyed myself watching the film

The soundtrack is very good by the group young fathers who I am also a fan of him was surprised to find out they did the soundtrack for which is excellent.

it’s an adequate attempt and a good return to the franchise for Danny Boyle and Ryder Alex Garland one just wishes the film felt a little bit stronger and into more of the hints that it feels like will be revealed in further films but are introduced here that keep your imagination open but doesn’t do this to any favors of adding anything to itself.

This is like seeing the sketch before you see the finish painting that is how I would compare this film.

PORN THEATRE (2002)

In the ticket booth of the theatre, a wise Italian woman serves as benevolent gatekeeper, observing–but never judging–the proceedings occurring under her watchful eyes. One day, one of her regulars engages her in a conversation that leads to an unusual friendship, as these two worldly souls share their common experiences.

The film takes place entirely in a porn theater hence the title focuses on the day-to-day actions mostly of this theater 

This French language film is similar to SERBIS and even GOODBYE DRAGON INN. 

It revolves around a movie theater, its workers, and its audience. We get to see the ins and outs of the theaters, literally as well as the various patrons, most of whom are recurring, who all have their own little side stories that we get into but don’t overtake the narrative.  

The only difference about this film other than the other two is this one has a lot more homosexual sex involved throughout it simulated but it’s basically where men are watching a straight adult feature, but hooking up with one another as well as male prostitutes, cross-dressing, prostitutes, and one another.

Though the film does go for shock and intimacy throughout. 

The film will show interactions and even some sexes, but then become very philosophical about the life experiences of the characters 

As we get to know the audience and the regulars, as well as the staff, which is truly only the projection is the owner who works at the ticket booth 

The interactions are really where the interest of the film comes in. It’s the meat of the story. 

The film displays openness, and honesty though what will throw some off is the lack at times of sexual scruples and probably the action 

Even though they’re watching a movie, where they seek to hide their kinks to only be kind and open to those who are strangers in the dark like them. We are the voyeurs during all of this and spying on them at their most vulnerable

The film at times can be perverse human touching and sad. It is not for the prudish or repressed and especially not for homophobic.

The film offers an interesting dynamic of how the owner hates and treats the homeless who she sees as junkies and lazy, but is nurturing to her audience

The film offers a glimpse of how the customers are treated by the outside world when the cops come in to check that nothing illicit is going on how they are treated and the comments they make to them and about them.

So that this theater is not only a hotspot but its kind of universe or considering it’s not that big maybe just its planet . As is this offers plenty of glimpses, but essentially seems more about representation and an ensemble cast.

A Testament to a location in the souls that inhabited that helped define it

BOAT TRIP (2003)

One can’t imagine what the thought process was behind this film. As it’s suppsed to be a sexual comedy for straight people by seemingly stereotyping and making it seem like a journey into homosexual lifestyles, focusing more on the hedonistic aspects. While also easily being seen as homophonic Maybe inviting the controversy and commentary and hoping that it would sell tickets.

That seems to seek out the message Hey Homosexual’s they are just like us. while throwing in a sitcom were the curve plot about to Street man who gets sent on a singles cruise after one has just had some heartbreak and being sent as revenge on and gay singles cruise That they can’t escape from, and when one falls in love with the few single available woman on the boat, but must play long as she thinks he’s gay and wants to get closer to one another.

This film is purely tasteless but strangely has a talented cast or lease big Name cast, and it seems to want to level the playing field envy open, but with most of its stereotypes, it still feels a bit mean-spirited.

The Movie was filmed in 2001 but wasn’t released till 2003 which kind of tells you the studio releasing a new they had some thing controversial on their hands

Despite all involved, the only reason to truly watch this film is Roselyn Sanchez, who is sexy as hell in this film they should have made her a big screen bombshell As it is one of her all-time sexiest appearances, though she is obviously Icandy, for the mostly straight audience that actually probably watch this film, but people avoided this film, like the plague due to his flight and it’s just such bad taste. I will also and it’s kind of insulting, Crude and stupid.

In its own weird way tries to show that hey gay humor and gays can be just as juvenile, a straight sex, comedies and humor even though the film like most sex comedies deals more and stereotypes, I found this also feels oddly misogynistic for a film that seems to be trying to bring all men together.

You already know somethings up with Cuba Gooding Junior is the star of the film. It all really depends at which part of his career. That you are witnessing his acting during as pretty much after he won the Oscar, other than MEN OF HONOR. it all seems to go downhill from there, except for maybe a handful of rolls here and there.

FEAR STREET: PROM QUEEN (2025)

Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.

What hurts this film is that when it’s compared to the first FEAR STREET set of movies which were a trilogy they were so richly connected and had so much deaths even for their familiar elements they want you over.

Watching this film is a disappointment as everything is lowered especially in quality now. Don’t know if it’s supposed to somehow be connected to the other three films movie take place in the same town or just be part of that franchise a FEAR STREET, but this is very disappointing.

As this film plays more like a basic Netflix, nostalgic, horror film, it doesn’t even need to really be part of the fear Street franchise.

As it makes the same mistakes that those other Netflix films make where they try to get into the decade that it’s setting in this case, the 80s in the fashion in pop culture that the story soon Almost takes a backseat.

It also doesn’t help that all or most of the female main characters looks similar. so that at times it’s really hard to tell them apart other than maybe sometimes when part of their personality or role, Well help the audience Remember who they’re supposed to be, that would least all of the teenage characters look age-appropriate 

If you’ve ever seen a horror found this film is pretty predictable when it comes to its kill scenes, and as always, the murder scenes at times seem to be the only action, or the only noteworthy parts of the film, even though some kills remain off screens, though this film does love the show or have a lingering shots of people getting their packages, cut off and watching bloodsport from it

The film does have a good soundtrack, but it has one of the worst dance battle scenes I’ve ever seen in a film that is supposed to be kind of heroic in its own way.

While watching this film, it’s obviously inspired by other better and popular horror films of its lineage so that it feels familiar and it would be worth it if there was some kind of value or reason behind it all, but this film just feels so desperately to be on trend that things seem the more happen just because.

Making the film feel less than significant. There’s nothing special about it. It’s rather bland wear other than the violence. This could’ve easily been a PG-13 movie. The film barely has any momentum

Now again, I didn’t read the source material, but the film feels undercooked and predictable and then tries to go gonzo and it’s 30 even though by halfway into this movie, you will figure it out pretty much who’s behind the killings no idea and loves to present tired, red herrings throughout like the grizzled old janitor, who is a drunken likes to stare at all the girls.

Then one of the biggest names or teenage stars in your cast, and you give her such a minor role, and she’s almost one of the first people to be eliminated from the movie Ariana Greenblatt no she seem to have the most interesting character.

Then the movie Try to build its main character up so much that it feels like it’s a portrait or a character story without much death and it doesn’t help that I mean she’s already ridiculed around town but yet she has no negative aspects to her character. Nothing risky so like the film she’s kind of boring the only thing that saves The film is that short.

As even when it comes to the original trilogy any of those film separately as a single film is still better than this one.

This might work as a starter horror, film for some, or an introductory for people who are not used to the horror genre, but other than that this is just basic and bland with no sauce or seasoning.

This is a revenge tale as well as a science fiction tale with a bit of body Horror thrown in. 

The film Feels cruel yet sensitive as while most of the characters are cruel. Only one of them truly deserves what happens to them.

Not to mention you generally have symoathy for the main character throughout. So much so that even some of the kills that occur. You might find yourself thinking of a defense for her.

Other Then that story wise, it’s pretty basic with an original ending that seems to match the cruelty of the rest of the film.

Leaving it is a kind of tales from the crypt twists. It pulls you in with its underdog tale and stays inventive while giving the various actresses not only more screen time to shine, but allows them to show range.

 A fun ride on a punishing road.

Don’t let the title fool you as It’s the name of the all female band who make up the leads of this film, but just like the name ItMs

Meant to provoke but is pretty basic. Similarly this film wants you to believe it will be provocative and ends up not really being that but offers an appearance of it.

 An annoying part of horror films is that when strange things happen the characters act like they have never seen a horror film or that the genre doesn’t exist 

Which is why they always think there is some explanation that will solve everything and while no one. Is asking for them to be experts as this is there reality. It would be nice that horror be acknowledged as existing and either mroe questioning or realization that this is

I wanted to like this film as it has plenty of splatter, gore and other disgusting visuals and qualities (not that is what I look for in my horror movies) but the film is disappointing 

As it offers very little to find interest in and comes across as a typical otherworldly zombie film with less action, yet very colorful. That offers plenty of gore and would be considered nasty because of it. 

For all the color and wildness the rock band aspect should add to the film. It stays rather tame and uneventful. Especially when there seems to be a scene to highlight them doing drugs.

Yet there is never really too many scenes that might make any of the characters feel like this might all be some kind of hallucination due to its

Less original than expected. Where you wish there was more action.

Didn’t filmmakers expect to get by on effects and shock? It comes across as very 1999’s or even early 2000’s 

It feels like a better funded foreign Trom studios film only without any real exploitation other than the title. With a little evil dead thrown in, but mainly a science fiction course in horror 102. It tries to offer some original science fiction fantasy elements. Though doesn’t necessarily save it or make the audience garner more interest.

Though while it is obviously B-Movie material with a d grade production other than special effects. This is defitnely the type that would have gone straight to home video in the past. Yet offers none of the guilty pleasures of those productions. 

In the end you really Don’t care too much because you barely know the characters except one who exclusively has flashbacks to what keep her going 

A film that doesn’t really feel like it needed to be made. As you wonder what it really has to offer or what story it has to tell. As it offers nothing different so it just feels like an unoriginal copy. It’s a movie of filler and not even a satisfying popcorn flick
